Can anyone tell me where the Case combines were made? I understand that production stopped in 1972. Were they built at Racine? Were they wholly a Case design?

I am pretty sure they were built in Racine. Jerome I Case started out building threshers that were horse treadmill driven, before steam. It all started there in Racine.
When I was a kid we had a CASE 700 soybean special, and a CASE 1060. It looked just like the 1660 you have the brochure of. Neither had a cab, dad added a cab later to the 1060 but no A/C, I remember it being HOT.
There's a few restored or not Case threshing machine around and I'm pretty sure they've got Racine marked on them. Case made combines in the 1920's and maybe earlier. A friend's father had a 1928 Case Model P (Prairie) and it's still out behind the barn. It's much like this one minus the leveling gear and the header counterweight.
