I had heard there was out at lake grace a 1480 with 17000hours on the clock. I suspect that its life is about as long as you are prepared to spend money on it. The trouble is one day you will look at the repair bill and think you could buy a lower houred machine for same. Axial flows are great though as they have a ready supply of spare parts that are all the same up to the 23xx series :)
 
There is a lot of difference in how a machine wears by its soil type and of course the crops grown. I am told that harvesters wear like your knife points. If they last so will your sheet metal . Personally I think life's end is somewhere in the 6-7000 hour mark if you are willing. My cts2 had 4500 sep hours when sold and still a lot of life yet.
