We currently have two of these units showing 3800 and 1900 hours. We ended up trading a case mx 135 with 6000 hours on the first one. No problems with the case but only cost $5000 hours to trade to a new tractor. Case sold their Mx line off to McCormick and went with new holland. Real bad move. Anyway, the only difference between the case and MC is the Perkins motor which is much more fuel efficient. We have had a few small problems with it mainly bolts not tightened down form the factory. We also pulled the injectors at 2000 hours and rebuilt them but they were 99% within spec. Overall it is a good unit with a few small problems. If the guy is getting a good deal on it I would grab it but watch out for the resale.
The MTX 135 is the same tractor as the Case IH MX 135 except that it has the 6.7 cummins instead of the 5.9 cummins motor. We have a Case MX 120 with over 7500 hours on it with very few problems so far.
The question I have is why would any one buy a McCormick it has nothing to do with the old McCormick. Are you buying just the name? And not saying there is anything wrong with these tractors just wondering what guys are thinking.
Hmmm, Onionfarmer, why did you purchase your MF combine? You just buying by name? There doesn't seem to be anything MF about it.
McCormick tractors were actually built at the former IH Doncaster plant, so there is some McCormick parentage there.
I don't find anything wrong with either brands purchase.
I did not intend to make anyone mad .Let me try this again. Do guys buy these because they get alot of tractor for the money and have a good dealer?Or is it more important that they are called McCormick ?
I know absolutely nothing about the new McCormick tractors, they could be junk for all I know, but this popped into one of my recent tractorhouse searches.
I would think this would be appealing to a few guys considering the $$/year/hours/hp.
