Anyone ever remove the auger pan out the back of the combine? I have only ever done it out the front with the transition cone out. I need to replace it and rebuild the sieve frames but don't need to replaced the cone so I would love to replaced it out the back

I replaced the auger bed on my 1999 model 2388 last spring. It wasn't terribly difficult but requires at least 3 people. After taking both cieves out a person can sit pretty comfortably on the tailings auger and pull the pan out. You'll also need a person on each side with pry bars in case it hangs us anywhere. Make sure whoever gets in the machine is small enough to let the pan slide over them. They will need to be able to keep it from falling on the augers. That makes the process of physically pulling the pan out take about 15 minutes after all the bolts are out. We were able to get the old pan out by lunch.
