Exactrix has started reproducing a redesigned version of the Yielder 6" 140,000 lb 40 degree capable ball and socket hitch from the Yielder era in response to numerous exactrix customer requests. The most current customer needs it for his grain carts so I thought i'd share here in case someone was looking for answers to hitch problems.

This is the page about the customer employing the old Yielder hitch, off the exactrix website:

I talked to the designer and he assured me the brace was there because of the HIGH tongue weight of the Yielder and not necessary for grain carts, in fact I think he's already designed it out of the newest version. He also stated if it were bolted to the sway bar the brace was not needed. I can't say prices since its not set and I dont want to get myself in trouble!

I think if you can design that brace into the system but still be able to use the PTO that would be great, after seeing carts pulled off the back of tractors were the stress on the drawbar has snapped it out of the bell housing on the tractor, it would save on the hodge bodge of chains around the drawbar and link arms we used to run to take the flex of the drawbar

The whole thing becomes much easier/ better if you do it like the continental europeans, turn the drawbar on the cart over, fit the ball above the pto and have the drawbar running up to the tractor. You can make tight turns without the pto being hindered by the drawbar or link arms and you get more ground clearance, only trouble with it is its a swine to hitch up by comparison to the pick up hitches we use, but then you guys are used to a fixed hitch anyway.
You can get a ball that would snap that deere in half before it broke over here and it wouldnt be 8 inches, everyone knows more than 6 is showing off!!

matttargett4, I'd like to see a picture, I have a rough idea, but not exactly sure what you man.

I don't see a real big advantage to the big-ass ball. I mean, it's a good concept, but seems somewhat inconvenient to remove or hook up.

Wouldn't some form of 3PTH pivot work? Might cause excessive wear, like a pintle, but if you've got enough tractor on the cart I'd imagine it would be able to handle the weight. Might be a little long, giving more leverage against the front wheels. I'm curious because I see this more and more on big discbines and other implements.

Because of tongue weight capability. We are looking at doing smaller sets for lower tongue weight capabilities and lower cost.

Why the tongue weight capability?
The ScharmĂĽller K110 has a permitted vertical load capacity about 27'500lb.

Wiith the K110 what is the rated load for pulling. is it rated high enough to for a reasonably large seeding rig behind a 350 hp tractor
