We were very wet this summer in wheat, looking at new 5088 and any experience in running 76x50 on 5088 size machine with rwa on, my math shows it should have 10 inches left to next row. have 30.5x32 on 2377 now and sunk like a rock in wheat, made corn/soy ok, never stuck before but stuck 10 times this year! Figure id need stalk stompers behind our 2606 chopper head. thanks for you input, will

we run 76s on ours with a 8 row and if you get in alot of mud it will push the mud up next to the next row. this is on a 8010 which i dont think would be much different than a 5088. i think you would have trouble with a six row in mud with the big tires.

how fast you have to go to keep a 7120 full with that small of a head? Anyways, one thing to consider about the bigger tires on a 6 row head, you will hate it if the corn is ever down, or if you plant a little to close one pass. Had a neighbor this fall with 20.8 duals with a 6 row and ran over one row the whole way across the field because the gps had drifted and planted to close by a few inches.

1050's on a 2388 & 6 row head

Not sure if a 5088 is wider than a 2388, but here is our 2388 with Michelin 1050 fronts that are about 44" wide & this works great. We could be a few inches wider & still be fine. Getting the rim offset right could be the biggest challenge. To close & you can't get at the machine. To far out & you'll be too wide. rears are 580's & that is as wide as we could go without hitting the clean grain elevator.
