Header Height Calibration

I wanted to let others know that if you are unhappy with your automatic header height control, it could be due to how it was calibrated.

Jeff at Headsight has told me some machines have issues with calibration. He could explain it better than me, but part of it has to do with a "loose" connection between the header and the combine faceplate. Long story short, I calibrated our MacDon FD70 (with Headsight Tilt Kit) just like normal only this time, I blocked the feederhouse up from the ground at the point the header height sensors were at full compression, or in the down position.

Maybe it is a fluke, but my height control has never been better, in particular with how it handles resuming automatic height control from a raised position. Before, it would slam down too quickly, even with Automatic Drop Rate at -50. Now I can have it in the positive range and it is comfortable. If it matters, CEBIS is on version 3.2.5. Some of the newer models don't have this issue as I understand it.

Thanks Jeff and all others who help out here.

While on the topic, I have a question about AHHC.

Which of these settings alter vertical AUTOMATIC height control? I know the top one does.

Thanks

I'll try the picture again. I don't understand why it doesn't come up. I back them up online and "share" them before copying the image address for the forum. It even shows up when I go to an incognito mode on Chrome and view the thread signed out.

I am almost surprised that header width would affect lateral tilt.

So which header should I select for MacDon? I think I currently have it on "header from another make"
