We just leave the chargers at home and swap battery’s. It’s hard to run the high capacity ones down. We do have a Milwaukee 12V charger in the truck in case.

 

I also just bought more batteries and swap them out with ones from the charger in the shop. Looked into the invertor option and decided to put a small generator on the service truck and a couple chargers in case I needed them, but haven't used them yet. You quickly get in the habit of switching the batteries when the service truck comes in at the end of the day.

 

ok, ya maybe i'm better off with the snap on in the shop because i can't gauge the battery level like I can with the milwaukee. what kind of small generator did you buy for the service truck we we're actually looking at generators to run grinders and maybe a small stick welder

 

I just bought one of those 2000 watt inventor ones. Small and light. Cheap. Would only run a small welder.

 

Just install a inverter that's keyed and leave a battery in all the time.

I would look at truck shops for a inverter to find something that can handle truck life

 

I have a 2000W inverter wired into my service truck with 2 receptacles so I can charge grease gun batteries and impact batteries at the same time. It works great, is handy and reasonably priced at about $200 at Canadian Tire. It also has a USB port for charging your phone.

 

Already have a compressor? We have one of those multifunction compressor/generator/welders on one of the meridian fuel wagons that’s actually pretty handy.
Just about never have an actual use for the inverter. Maybe back in the day before Milwaukee.

 

I just have a lot of batteries!
