Weak hydro on Lexion 575r -- And hard turning

New 740TT,

hydro is slightly "weak" with a forty foot draper, grain tank 3/4 or above full, and turning up a grade in 2nd 2wd. I almost always run in 4x4. Yes, head up, going down hill and turning doesnt work great.

I can do 80 ft headlands, 40 ft header and make a turn-around on a headland fairly decent. Alot easier with 60 ft, 30 ft header, and my old 2388.

Why don't you take some pics of your bar tracks on some ground that you have turned on, or measure a diameter of turning. Give us something to work with on your combine not wanting to turn so we can compare.

Are you in 1st or 2nd gear Hyde? I run my 740 with 12 row and 40' beans head in 1st gear. It will pull most hills in 2nd but when the grain tank gets half or better full it might stall out so I jist run low gear. I am not going to harvest above 4.8mph with either head so its not a big deal.

As far as turning... I have 120' of end rows and with a 12 row I still make a slight loop away first and its very comfortable. I could probably do 100' easy but if I am on an angle I think 90' would be tight.

Why not run in 4x4 2nd? You do have four-wheel drive don't you!!
