2388 header raises slowly

I have a 1998 2388 and the header is lifting really slowly?? Like 40 seconds to go all the way up. It's got lots of fluid, the rams are a little bit pitted, but it was working fine up until today. I switched from a 1020 to a 1010 header, but I think that's just a coincidence.

Any suggestions?

Take the header off or hang it over a ditch or terrace and run a header height control calibration. Your ops manual tells you how. 99% chance that's your problem.

I have changed the settings in the arm rest and that didn't help. I will try the calibration

Same thing happened in our 2188. It was the header height sensor on the feeder.

I tried the calibration, it didn't help, I unplugged the height sensor, and it works good now... Other than that stupid header error keeps flashing.

Sounds like it's in the head.
