Hello
I have a 9870sts combine with a 640d header and last year during harvest two codes popped up. Things I have done I’ve calibrated the header, changed fore n aft sensor, tried a second combine and problem follows, check wires from fore n aft plug to main connection at combine. I’m a little lost and wondering if anyone else has had this happen

Sounds like the sensor needs adjusting. You should be able to go into readings and look at the fore/aft and reel height sensors and make sure the are between .5-4.5 volts.
If the voltage does not move I’d suspect a bad ground wire. It’s been a while on a 70 series but is there a calibration for the reel sensors?

I looks like you are getting an error for both Reel raise/lower & Fore-aft. That tells me that its likely a wiring fault to those sensors. Try unplugging one of them and measuring across the outer two wires (A to C) - you should get 5V. If not, you have a wire problem. NOTE: there are many other sensors on the head that use this same 5V & ground wire, so most likely the fault is in the wire to these sensors.

You can read those sensors on
  • Reel F/A - LC1-25
  • Reel U/D - LC1-26
As noted, they should be 0.5-4.5 and change as the reel moves.

Unfortunately I do not have access to look up those fault codes:
  • 523555.07
  • 523586.07
