Deere must really be pushing their comment during one show where they said something like: "every producer will be 10,000acres in the next 10 years". I dont see it happening for a long time since theres still alot of farmers around that are conservative compared to my generation thats wanting to "push all the chips in every time".

I see 16-24 row planters still being the hottest planter available though, 24 row's are great for corn and 16/31's are perfect for soy's in the midwest.

Not a 48 row / 30 inch planter. Have you ever been to that show and seen how much stuff JD puts on it (not to mention how many employees they bring)? Even if the planter was only partially unfolded, or left folded, they would have to leave considerable amounts of other products off.

JD never launches anything big at Louisville. That show caters to too many different agricultural markets to make it a place for them to launch anything major or devote themselves totally to large farming. 40 foot wide equipment is about as wide as you'll get in that show and still get other more popular items on the lot and space enough for people to still walk around.

Go and find out for yourself. I've been going for the past 27 years and I can tell you that Muddy is right. Deere brings so much equipment there won't be any room for something that big. As Muddy said, the show is so diverse keeping certain products from the show to make room for something that big might upset a major portion of your customers. No company can bring anything that large in to the National farm machinery show.

You guys could very well be right. Usually deere doesn't debut new products at the show but this is not a tractor or combine. This is a planter that will be available in the spring, so they basically have this opportunity to show it off. However, I think there is a waiting list for the planters anyway, so anybody that wants one will be on the list. Maybe they don't need to show it off to the public. As you said larry, go and find out, we can argue all month but wont do anybody any good.

There still isn't enough room on those exhibit lots (even the largest) to put a 90' implement, especially JD, and still have enough room to show all that they bring to the show. And, from the looks of things there, unless you are a large mfg., you don't get that much space anyway. I also can't imagine another brand (I assume a short liner) cooperating with JD to show a new piece of JD equipment that large on their lot, taking away from their (short liner's) own display.

Field around my house will be planted the 4th or 5th season with a 90ft 48row jd on 22in rows. They have been around a few years.W ORKS GREAT AN FOLDS FOR TRANSPORT IN SHORT ORDER.Have vireo an photo of being pulled with Case an john deer . Planter was used to plant corn an beans.Origionally had markers but when they were bent auto steering was installed. One thing for sure in turns it is like a cessna- outside speeds up an population spacing increases an inside gets very thick.

Incorrect.
The tractor just needs to be new enough to receive the programming for it.
I don't know where the cut off is but in this case probably everything will be new so irrelevant.

This planter will be on display at Louisville. 48 row 30 inch. Same length (transport) as the 36 row just has wings, at least the one that I saw that bauer himself used last spring. I read on new ag talk that it will be there.

Thanks for correcting me Don and Tom, I was under the impression that iTec was only available on track and MFWD tractors.

Anyway I have some more information that I thought you guys would like to know, he is using a 9430 that they have outfitted with a 20,000 lb. drawbar

and tripples. Deere wants the tractor to have tripples but the planter frame does not. So I don't know what they are going to do since you really need to be able to turn
