a couple of us were thinking we should be able to run at 6,000 bph in corn. tigercat posted some things to try and had said if they did'nt get to 6,000 he had one more thing to do . as far as i know nobody posted they had gotten to 6,000. at that time i still had a 760tt and about 5,000 is all i could get. after harvest i traded for a 780tt . the best i've done with it is 5,500. beyond that and the return goes full it starts throwing corn over the chaffer. i think the clean grain auger does'nt run fast enough. in the 10 hour challenge video jeff gray is running the combine and stated at one point that it was running at 6,300 bph. what are we missing?

yes

In order to run over six consistently the bottom sieve must be pulled as it was in the 50K video. Remember also Jeff did that in 9 separator hrs. The corn must be 16ish or under and heavy test. At one point he was averaging close to 6. Clean the fan intake area between the fans underneath and in front of the tranny. What fan speed are you running? I had a 4000 bu average yesterday on 31K bushel. To average 4 or 5 ,takes running 5, 6 and 7 at times. I run older stuff and when i run into the 5Ks I feel guilty i`m going to find a week spot. My 98 480 would run all day at 4400 but push it past that and the smoke would fly off the clean grain belt. I am so thankful to be finished tomorrow and record yields also. The 500s and 700s have an over built clean grain system and I do appreciate that. A narrow body can push to the upper 5ks and this is with the extra long lower installed. Good luck! Tigercat

even in 15% 60 pound corn we're only at 5500 bph. fan speed up to 1450. why would the bottom sieve need to be out. can't you open it to do the same as pulling it out. with our 780 and 16 row head we very seldom go more than 5.5 mph. all irrigated circles. typically cover 150 to 200 acres in a 12 hour day . 30,000 to 50,000 bushels.

Completely off topic, but you are the guys we are looking for! My 6 yr old wants to combine corn in the worst way, and so do I ! One fall we want to take a working holiday and come run a combine for you! Don't want to be paid. Pm me if you would ever entertain that.

We farm in Saskatchewan and run all newer equipment.
