Will it fit

Will a New Holland 94C draper header off a New Holland CR960 fit on a CaseIH 7120. Also looking at a Macdon 974. Which do you think would be the better header. Mainly harvest wheat, peas, canola and flax.

We have the newer MacDon FD70 and we really like it. I'm not sure all the things that are different between it and the older 974. I know things are a bit different in the combine adapter part, but I think the overall flexing linkage is the same. Being able to switch from rigid to flexing mode with just a couple of levers is nice, though ideally you need to adjust the main suspension springs between modes.

I have no experience with the Honeybee.

Yes it will fit. The only difference as mentioned would be if the header is equipped with HHC and auto contour.

How do I know this? Took a MacDon FD70 that was used on a Case and put it on our New Holland CR9070. (CR's, XX10, XX20, XX30 Case all use the same feeder faceplate) We had to change the potentiometer for auto header height because Case and New Holland combines require different input signals.

Personally I'm a MacDon guy. I've never harvested anything but wheat and soybeans with one, but from what I've read you will want an upper cross auger for canola and possibly peas and flax as well.

94C is a rigid header, 974 is a flex, if you need to cut low and I mean on the ground 974 hands down...

I would double check on the 974...I think on some combines the whole center part called the "combine adapter" needs to be changed out. not sure about those combines, but you should double check with someone who knows. One of the big changes from 974 to FD70 was not needing to change the "combine adapter" to go to different combines. (at least that is what I was told!) good luck
