Kijiji has been good for us on any items I've ever advertised.

Been looking lately as well. Tractorhouse $200/mo, Fastline $100/mo. Pretty insane in my opinion. They arent doing any more work than car/truck advertisers and most of those are free with a fee for “featured” option.

 

Don what are you selling ? I assume you got rid of the tractor and other big items?

 

I like kijiji but they only give you two free ads now and the place is flooded with dealers. They are doing their best to screw that site up IMO. I don't get the Western producer or any other paper, AgDealer and Farmlife papers come free but that would be an expensive ad in there I would expect. Local dealer on consignment might be good if you know a good sales guy.

 

Agree kijiji is going down hill. I have used it lots and had good success. Sold lots of stuff there and just hired someone that responded to my from there. But, they are letting dealers put way to many ads on there, that company that sells lifts and stuff will have 50 ads in a row at times.

 

You can get rid of dealer adds by selecting the for sale by owner option. It gets rid of most dealer adds.

 

Also 306 farm equipment on Facebook works well too

 

I've had good luck buying and selling on Kijiji. Agree on to many dealer ads but if you know what your looking for and set filters it's not to painful.

 

Kijiji. And it pays to keep it a top ad.

 

Kijiji and the local farm groups on facebook work good for me. kijiji seems to be great for small stuff I've been cleaning up my Grandpa's yard for the last 7 years and I haven't found anything I can't get rid of yet.

I think the drill in particular could go to this market if you don't mind US dollars. The site just uses a good internal search engine to find things from broad categories such as agricultural.

Is kijiji mainly Canada based?

 

I use kijiji for 90% of everything I have bought, and sold items as well. It is where I go to shop for everything from seed to equipment. Just use multiple email addresses to get around the item limit. Gmail accounts are free.

 

With kijiji just keep removing your ad every 2 days or so and relisting. I follow heavy equipment/ag daily for [redacted] and that seems to be what most people do. Facebook seems to be good too so the wife says, but I am not on facebook.

I would say Kijiji would be best over all, pretty much the standard go to source for almost everyone. Anything else I would consider as optional or additional. As for Facecrack, well I am not on there, nor are most of my friends, and we are not alone as thats more the younger crowd thing, so you are missing a huge group of buyers relying on that.

With Kijiji be prepared for the fake text messages, emails and phone calls. Seems there are some kind of bots or such at work there, last time I got the first fake text within five minutes of posting the ad.
And the ads that really get my attention, list a price, location and have a phone number. Pics are a good plus as well. Often ads without prices or phone numbers I and many I know simply pass them by. I mean if you go to the trouble of listing something, you know what you want for it, put a damm price in the ad!

 

Kijij works good, sold bunch of stuff on it, just beware any large ticket item might want to do a title search to see if theres a lien on it.

 

With kijiji, I actually found no phone is the best. Make them email you their number or after an email or 2 can talk on phone. Eliminates the scammers usually.

 

Serious sellers always post their phone number.....I have bought and sold hundreds of items on Kijiji and I always post my phone number. The only fake calls I ever get are when I have higher priced machines for sale and get calls from Americans offering to help sell for me.....just tell them you are not interested and hang up! I also usually find that serious buyers like to phone.....if they are serious they usually want to come fairly soon so they can get the deal they want!

 

Don, I will sweeten the deal on the truck. 5 bucks, pocket lint and some belly button fuzz. I was saving the belly button fuzz for the new dodge truck, but hey you only live once lol. On the real part of this, I never put my phone number on kijji ads since all I have is my cell. Once they make contact throught kijji and I feel that they are not trying to scam me I will give my number and go from there.

 

Kijiji has been my go to for everything! If it isn't on there then it better be by the road in plain view with a price. Anyone posting an item with no price never gets a call. Your selling it and I am buying something so put up the dam price. I hate calling somebody to hear how great it is and an unrealistic $$. Post pics of everything even the bad stuff and that shows your honesty. Much like Don and his Grain truck he hates with the cat. Got to be some cat lover on here that will over look it's history? It is obviously running and likely going to be a steal of a deal lol with Don's conscience. If you were closer Don I would have a look. You obviously spent the money on it.

 

I agree.....the price must be in the ad! Even more important than the phone number. Another thing people should always do is post their approximate location.......the maps are not always correct. The closest town or what area of the city etc....

 

I am advertising on Kijiji and on combine forum and on facebook pages specifically for farm equipment. Western Producer is pricey but I think still gets some exposure. I am doing a significant downsize and decided to try my own website simply cause I have a lot of items. if you want to guest consign on my website, I would add it as the more that is on there the more traffic it should generate. so far people from the combine forum have been the most traffic to my site. If my site ever developed enough momentum, I would probably set it up to be a listing type of site. FOr now its just kind of a fun, and hopefully useful, project. buymyfarmequipment.com is the site.

 

A few questions about what should be listed for info:
Make/model/year of course, but what about:
Amount of use?
New replacement cost?
Reason for selling?
As is where is? That just assumed normally I guess.
Or...anything else you think is appropriate?

Make, model and hours and what your asking. And PICS, more the better.

Very easy site to use, also buyers can setup alerts on things there looking for.
