Question if this is a Basic (Tried & True Drive train) Scraper Tractor, Will an Ag Specific Model be added with the Gooder Stuff later?

At least in theory their Philosophy was to get the Best stuff available...mainly from the Mining Industry listening to Ron proselytize for decades, but people want comfort and the best hyd. available. But will components from that industry suit Ag applications since the major manufacturers spend millions developing Ag Specific applications?

•Will they offer different engines and transmissions etc. later?
•Will they build Custom for Specific applications, larger tractor etc?

Basically is this application the best all round kinda Cookie Cutter Unit to serve the customer for ease of maintenance and make a profit and stay in business?

We all know how easy it is far a relatively small business to fail. I sure hope they can make it.

Reality is no one makes a tractor to truly handle the largest air seeders available. The new Bid Bud should be the best fit.
I do see a problem. Those larger farmers tend to depend on dealers for repairs and parts. Big Bud able to fill that place? Or help locate reliable and capable local techs for those farmers. I think so. There are plenty great techs that do constructions equipment full time. This fits in that realm.

I really hope they can make a go of it and find a perfect fit to stay busy and profitable. Between the scraper tractor and ag tractor fit, it should work.
For tech, any monitor can be used. About any tech can be applied in it. Hydraulics are not that complicated when building from scratch. At least they shouldn't be. Parker, Eaton, both make great fully electronic systems available with high flow rates. It is all available out there with out having to reinvent the wheel. A fridge isn't that hard to fit in a cab. :ROFLMAO:

What were issues with those hyd valves ?
The electronics right at the valve stack liked to fail and there was an oring on the coupler cartridge that failed too. Must push a bit more pressure than the JD’s because they hardly had any trouble with the same valve but their own electronics.

Might as well have a million + dollar Super Bud Model. I'm sure they could sell a fair #. Still curious to see a 1000hp tracked tractor with large engine and complementary heavy duty drivetrain in a NTTL
Test.

Isnt the whole point of these tractors to be basic without all the bells and whistles that the current crop of machines have and that make them so unreliable. In my experience the worst failure point is electronic hydraulic valves. On my blue Steiger 3 of the four failed, 2 JCB's they all failed. My brothers Magnum 1 of 3 failed, the JCB he bought new has 1 of 4 left working after 5 years. If your going to insist on not connecting a lever to the valve stack then just have bang/bang valves that are at least reliable. The proportioning valves on Ag tractors are basically a gold mine for dealer service depts.

I’ve been kicking this idea around for a while and might just put it together for fun. The MT875X2 Challenger Quad track. 😂.
It wouldn’t be very hard to make a coupling that would connect 2 of them together with a pivot in the middle and all the controls on one bus as they are drive by wire anyways.
36liters of displacement, 1400HP, double the hydraulics, 130,000lbs then make it autonomous for kicks.
Then make a video of it pulling one of the red/greens sideways for the YouTube glory. 😂

Exactly what do you need to pull that 700hp won’t pull? At some point there’s a place where common sense needs to be used. Example the Super truckers that think they need 700hp to pull super Bs in flat land Saskatchewan. Oh they might get to crusher 45 seconds faster than their buddy in his 500hp freight shaker with its auto shift. Then proceed to tell you how there on there 4th motor, 3rd tranny and 2nd set of diffs in 5 years and how great of truck it is now. 😂

Here's a big bud esque (baldwin) vesion:
Doesn't look like a very practical seeding rig to me. Neat though. Definitely would require section control!

Not his choice. Cut one down go directly to Jail, do not pass start. In one state they'll even charge you if you cut down a dead tree
Yes I'm aware of that. I just question whether the 214ft air seeder is actually practical for such fields, as large as they are. Seems to me that all of the efficiency gain of the big seeder is completely lost having to turn around the trees like that. At least on the fields shown in the video.

If finding qualified labor is a problem, finding a guy to steer around the trees with such a big outfit is going to be even harder than finding two guys to run two smaller seeders. As fun as it is to see such a large machine, it's a for-fun novelty in my opinion.

If the field was 1000 ha and had no trees or obstacles at all, then no doubt it would be pretty fast, although I suspect you'd spend more time filing than planting.

It does! If you call 107’ section a section.
I suspect you'd spend more time filing than planting.
Well…the unit is about 3+ times wider and ground speed appears to be roughly a wash to our seeding speeds but compared to my area seed rates and especially fertilizer rates would be way, way under 1/3 of my area application rates so with two tanks that look like old Concords one would run quite a while.

I'm sure with the size of his operation and years he's been doing it...it works (Probably not a Hobby Farmer). Plus he cut the complexity out of 2 tractors...if he could get a 1200hp Big Bud to pull it 2-3 mph faster he'd be even further ahead. And as long as the support staff crew to fill and that tractor doesn't stop too long...it's cake.
Not too mention a sane government that could figure out the Tree situation..relocation something? Not an Australian Arborist...so don't know the signifance there...I lost a majestic old Live Oak this year to ice storm...who goes to jail?

Zell is an old tractor collector bigbudluvr.
He took on an old Bud in a sale and an Upton from here where Iam. Iam not sure what else he has in his playground but rumours are there is quite a few. You may have to Google Upton tractors. AUS made thing.
