All six header sizes, 30/35/40/41/45/50 all have the same middle section and the same center triple reel section on 40/45/50.

As per my swag.
Had Macdon boys out today. To clarify the 45 and 50 have a 15ft Center section. 41ft and down have a 10ft center section. So the 45 is all equal sections 3 15ft. The 50ft wings are 17.5ft.

Interesting and thanks for the clarification.
So the wings on the 40 and 45 are the same then.

Got a quote on the 45’. With the counter wheels will I still need the two stabilizer wheels? How about when wet would the two stabilizer wheels help big time ??
And which head would flex’s better a 45 or 40? With triple real

I had a started a thread about having the slow speed transport or not. Most said get it. The 40 and 45 should both flex similar and work great.

The hinge flex angles will be the same on all triple reel units be it a 40’/45’/50’.
Happen to be going through draws last night on an angle where full range flex was used and feeder faceplate went almost full range in a matter of a few seconds.
Interestingly auto faceplate tilt is much faster than manual tilt when you calibrate faceplate tilt range or move it manually.

Yes, plugfree knife stroking 1560 does an absolutely even cut at 16.3 km/hr.
Wish I did‘t actually know that.:(
Fastest combine will go in 1st/4WD standby.
Oddly, it goes slower if not in 4WD standby. Weird. This years model anyway.

Contour Max wheel height gauge needs extended so more visible especially at night.

Tilt cylinder mount needs relocated forward due to blower housing interference on sea greens blower.

That’s it!

The 45 will follow ground every bit as good as 40. You will have same wings as 40 ft just with wider Center section. In our experience the 50ft will contour and follow ground every bit as good as the 45.

Yeah but I’m talking shaving the ground for soybeans or peas.
I am to. We’ve cut 2200 acres of lentils which grow every bit as low as soybeans if not lower and pod lower than peas. They were only 8” tall this year. Pic shows lentils after they were cut right on ground over an old fence line. Watch video of cutting lentils in previous posts

I didn’t have to cut quite as low you Sklexion, ran C MacDon tilt, Claas -7 feeder faceplate (the point of blower housing crushing start) skid shoes lowest (highest knife), that lovely wheel gauge scale anywhere from just keeping skid shoes tickling the ground about 1/4 reading to 2 and 1/2 on the highest and about a normal nice cutting height, ran 50 Claas auto height scale vast majority of the time (exactly middle of float range) and 20 for the most rolly or hilly material or lowest needed cutting.
Liked my settings, absorbed 0 (zero!) rocks, never touched the easy fix knive, maybe just lucky especially at some 16 km/hr cutting speeds.
Kids have been faithful at rock picking and rolling, that a big factor.
But…I realize I never had to cut as low as you and I only put on 50 hours. Put one of those knife tach/hour meters on, really handy.
By the way, with that meter I found it came stroking 1240, 1560 after Don adjusting.
Plug free knive very quiet due to tight clearances.

Really like float setting system, can’t say the same for wing balance system.
