If combines are going to be AI and completely autonomous, then you certainly don't need large machines. fleets of smaller might be more efficient. The demand for big combines is driven by labor requirements I think. Personally I'm not sure I want a fully autonomous combine. There's got to be at least one fun job left on the farm after everything else is automated and you run it from the beach.

Of course if you want big efficient combines, there's always this:

Well in giant fields you would need giant combine harvesters or else you would need a squadren of 12 to 20 smaller combines. But larger is better so there is no need for smaller combines. In smaller fields yes small combines are ok but you would need bigger combines plus they can act as chaser bins like the tri bine. It makes cence so no need for tractors

It's been a while since I posted here.

We're currently in the works of wrapping up the last two NextGen prototype units. Both will be tested and shipped off here in the next couple of weeks.

There's rumors floating around that we'll be making something alongside this twin rotor giant, using basically the same combine except with one big axial-flow rotor. I have no way of confirming if this is true or not, but we shall see. I'll keep you all posted.

Now with the 160 series, that's news to me. I wonder where they'll be making those since we're discontinuing the mid-range line here in GI. Maybe we aren't now? Weird stuff.

Bigger, bigger, bigger, more HP …… 🤷🏻‍♂️ ……. Plenty of my farming friends & especially professional contract harvesters (cutters) are all questioning this race for “bigger & more HP”.
Why?
Have we honestly reached the limit in capacity & field efficiency of the current class 8, 9 & 10 machines?
I‘d say not. Well, I know not. Because there’s always improvements in the machine capacity to be obtained. Be it from different concaves, rotor bars & or wider cutting widths, coupled with better feeding drapers.
Once youve exhausted that avenue, what about maximising in field & off field grain handling capacity & efficiency?
What about running the machine(s) longer hours per day? If you’re running the machine 12hrs per day ……. adding another 20% to that is only 14.5hrs per day. 15hrs + 20% is 18hrs per day etc. etc. Run 2 shifts on the machine ……. 20% more grain per day is nothing to be sneezed at …… from the same machine!
These new Mega machines don’t come with a friendly price tag either. $1.3m - $1.7m I expect would be the range. Possibly even more.
Many people are already bucking at the asking price for the current 8, 9, 10 sized machines. Professional harvesters can’t get a return on investment now. Where’s the incentive to invest in bigger, much more expensive depreciating steel?
So, interesting times ahead.
That sounds awesome Rod. However in some parts of the Prairie Provinces. you are lucky to get in a 7-8 hour day. things are simply too wet to shove through. even @ 700 hp

I hope to see this monster on YouTube when it comes out. There is a new case IH 9160 and a 9260 coming out as I saw pictures of them on a page on here and it showed the real 9160. the largest NH CR and CASE IH combines have the same cab that have even more lights than the older combine harvesters. Maybe all the newest combine harvesters from case and new Holland will have the same bigger cab. they look very futuristic and the NH looks awesome with the new larger body style. Maybe they might customise them and wrap them in new metallic colours for limited additions for farm shows like they do with tractors as I have seen ertl and Britain's make models of these combines with dark chromed metallic black red maybe gun metal gray let's hope so

The cab will likely be the same, but the interior will probably differ. Both the current NH and Case machines share the same cab now, but the armrest console is very different on NH. For whatever reason NH prefers a propulsion lever with no neutral indent, but rather a lock. I find it annoying, but I'm sure NH guys like it fine or prefer it. I suspect similar differences will remain in the brand new next gen machines as well.

The cab on the case IH is different to the NH cab. The new Holland cab is bigger than the case cab.at the moment but the new giant next gens of these combines have a new larger cab that is the same. The older style case cab has lights that are closer together but the new Holland has more of a mech visor style cab that is wder at the top with smaller lights that are more apart in the middle but this new cab has an even bigger futuristic style visor

The orientation of the NH buttons kept me up at night………..
Up feeder up
No not tilt right, up up up 😡😡🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
